Kazhydromet predicts spring drought 24.02.2022 в 16:15 230 просмотров

Low water in the rivers, moisture deficit in the main grain-growing regions of the country, Kazhydromet forecast. The results of the interim analysis of weather forecasters were shared by the Director of the Republican State Enterprise D. Alimbayeva, World of NAN reports.

As the head of the meteorological service noted, in general, the state of winter crops in the country is assessed as satisfactory.

“In Almaty, Turkestan regions, winter crops went into winter, and the state of Zhambyl region was also very good. However, damage to wheat crops is noted, from 4 to 14%. We attribute this to the low height of the cover and the decrease in air temperatures. But in WKO, stable snow cover most of the winter crops from low temperatures. But nevertheless, damage to winter rye up to 9%, wheat was recorded in the region, D. Alimbaeva noted.

Low moisture reserves in the arable soil layer from 0 to 20 cm are noted throughout the country. According to the expert, weak moisture is caused by hot weather preceding the growing season and active evaporation of moisture from the soil. A small amount of precipitation that fell before the onset of frost also played a role.

According to the analysis of specialists, moisture deficit was recorded in North Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Aktobe and Zhambyl regions. In its good autumn moisture has developed in large areas of Akmola, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Almaty and Turk regions and in the East Kazakhstan region.

According to the head of Kazhydromet, along with the general deficit of moisture in the soil, the volumes of winter precipitation are also disappointing, and the farmers of certain regions hoped. Thus, in the main grain-sowing regions, the volume of winter precipitation did not justify the hopes of the East Kazakhstan region, a significant excess of precipitation norms was noted. More than the average annual amount of precipitation fell in WKO and Aktobe, in Kostanay and Pavlodar regions, near the norm.

“In the rest of the country, precipitation during the winter fell below the norm, and in some areas of the North Kazakhstan region, Turkestan, Al regions, below the norm by 30%. In the Mangistau region, where last year the drying up of the soil led to drought, during the winters only 29% of the precipitation from the norm. At the same time, there are no problems with precipitation in the neighboring Atyrau region. They fell a little bit of the climatic norm. Accordingly, an early spring drought should be expected in the Mangistau region,” D. Alimba said.

The speaker also warned that farmers in Zhambyl, Turk Kyzylorda, Mangistau and some districts of Atyrau regions should not rely on soil moisture due to snow.

The forecasts for water reserves in the river basins are also disappointing. Forecasters predict low water in the rivers of Zhambyl, Alm, Turkestan, Kyzylorda, Aktobe and Atyrau regions.

According to the Kyrgyzhydromet service, which also monitors the condition of rivers, water below the norm by 30% is expected in the river - by 24%. In turn, Roshydromet expects a decrease in water volumes below the norm by 20-35% in the Syrdarya.

As for precipitation in March, they will fall near the norm in most of the country. The rainfall norms in WKO, North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Akmola and in the north of Aktobe regions should please farmers. But in April, precipitation is predicted less over most of the republic. In May, the farmers of Kyzylorda, Turk Kostanay, the western half of the Karaganda, the northwestern half of the Zhambyl regions need to be ready for precipitation less than the norm.

“May is expected to be cool, we will present the drought forecast for the month of May this year on April 23, and in the first days of May D. Alimbayeva summed it up.
