On the eve of the State Food Procurement Agency of Egypt GASC because of the high price canceled the international tender for the purchase of wheat.
It should be noted that the price tag offered by exporters, taking into account delivery, has crossed the mark of the price predicted by experts at $400/ton.
Grain market participants report that due to supply uncertainty and market instability after the start of Russia's military operation in Ukraine, only three trading houses took part in the tender. The minimum offer came from French companies - $389.92 and $399/ton (FOB).
The American company offered grain at a price of $447/ton (FOB). Recall that earlier GASC also canceled the tender.
In turn, to replace the supply of wheat from the Russian Federation and Ukraine, Egypt approved 14 countries - potential exporters.
