As part of the exporters' forum in Astana, bilateral negotiations were held in the B2B format, as a result of which business representatives from Kazakhstan and China entered into agreements for the supply of goods totaling $164.5 million. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.

On the sidelines of the forum, memorandums of cooperation were signed between QazTrade JSC and the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade (Sichuan Council), as well as the Hubei Enterprise International Cooperation of China Association.

The Orbis Kazakstan group of companies has entered into a memorandum of cooperation with Sichuan Kaiyi International Co., Ltd.

In addition, Food Corporation JSC and Jinmaisui Group Gangwei agreed to cooperate in order to sell Kazakh agricultural products.

According to information from the head of the MIT of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliev, at the end of last year, China took first place among Kazakhstan’s trading partners. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China reached a record $31.5 billion.

According to him, Kazakh enterprises can additionally increase supplies to China by $1 billion for 135 product items, including a wide range of agricultural products.

“We began active work with the province of Sichuan, which is one of the top 3 large provinces in China. Today, trade between Kazakhstan and the province amounts to almost $230 million, of which Kazakhstan exports products worth $45 million,” said A. Shakkaliev.

He noted that Sichuan province is ready to purchase large volumes of fat and oil products, grain products, drinks, confectionery and other goods. In the near future, the QazTrade trade representative office will begin work together with Chinese partners in Sichuan province, where the export operator will act as a link between Kazakh enterprises and large companies in China.
