Chairman of the Presidium of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Raimbek Batalov presented a generalized position of business on tax reform at an extended meeting of the Chamber. He stated that business does not support the government's proposal to increase the VAT rate to 20% and reduce the threshold values for this tax.
"I would like to pay special attention to the topic that is actively discussed in the business community - the VAT rate. We believe that the rate increase should be justified by calculations, and we are against its one-time increase to 20%," said Raimbek Batalov.
He also stated that business is against reducing the threshold values for value-added tax to 15 million tenge.
"It is important to analyze the consequences that this will entail for the profitability and growth rates of business, especially in the context of complicated administration. In addition, we disagree with the proposal to reduce the limit for the application of a special tax regime," the head of the NCE noted.
At the same time, in order to reduce the cost of production, the National Chamber "Atameken" proposes to reduce the tax burden on the employer's payroll by eliminating the social tax and mandatory pension contributions of the employer.
Following the meeting, the need was determined for financial and economic calculations based on objective data and expert assessment of industry specialists. This will allow taking into account the specifics of each sector of the economy. In addition, the National Chamber has developed a bulletin, which is already collecting proposals for tax reform. This bulletin will be sent to industry committees and regional councils.
