Due to export restrictions, the supply of Kazakh wheat to Tajikistan is expected to be reduced by 20%.
For reference: the annual import of Kazakh wheat by Tajikistan is about one million tons.
In particular, the Asia-Plus portal notes that in the first quarter of 2022, Kazakhstan exported to the Republic of Tajikistan, according to the quota that the Ministry of Agriculture plans to extend, 175.8 thousand tons of wheat.
It is noted that by the reporting period, the cost of food wheat in Kazakhstan is more than $400/ton, while last year the price was fixed at $215/ton.
