Kazakhstan will harvest 11.2 million tons of wheat 12.10.2023 в 09:54 157 просмотров

The gross grain harvest in Kazakhstan is projected at 15.3 million tons, including wheat - about 11.2 million tons. As of October 11, 14.9 million hectares of grain crops were harvested in the country, or 86.2% of the planned area. With an average yield of 9.2 c/ha, 13.6 million tons of grain were threshed. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The department noted that the country also has a volume of high-quality grain from last year’s harvest - about 3 million tons.

“Taking into account carryover balances, the expected gross harvest is sufficient to fully meet the internal needs of the republic and to sell certain volumes of grain for export,” said Vice Minister of Agriculture Abulkhair Tamabek.

The Ministry of Agriculture recalled that in order to provide support to farmers affected by weather conditions, it was proposed to set purchase prices for the Food Corporation within the framework of forward purchasing in the amount of 120 thousand tenge/ton for class 3 wheat and 105 thousand tenge for class 4 wheat.

Along with this, it is planned to carry out direct purchase in the amount of 350 thousand tons at prices: 105 thousand tenge for class 4 wheat, 90 thousand tenge for class 5 wheat, 70 thousand tenge for non-class wheat.

For these purposes, it is planned to replenish the authorized capital of the Food Corporation in the amount of 31.3 billion tenge.
