Exports of agricultural goods from Kazakhstan to China increased by 2 times and over 8 months of this year. amounted to $653.3 million. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the secretary of the party committee of the city of Xi'an, Fan Hongwei, and the chairman and general director of the industrial corporation of bread and butter "Xi'an Ai Ju" Jia Hei met with the head of the Ministry. The parties discussed cooperation in the agricultural sector, joint projects, as well as current issues of export-import of agricultural products.
“The main agricultural export products are: flax seeds, wheat, barley, sunflower oil, sunflower seeds, processing waste of cereals or legumes, seeds and fruits of other oilseeds, rapeseed oil, animal feed products and tobacco raw materials,” said A. Saparov.
In addition to the growth of exports in general, the minister noted the growing trend in the annual consumption of Kazakh grain in the PRC. As a result of this, and also taking into account the geographical location and the presence of a common border, Kazakhstan considers China as a promising market for domestic grain and flour.
Kazakh products are exported to China by 1,718 domestic enterprises: 1,629 producers of crop products and 86 producers of livestock products.
The total trade turnover between the countries for January-August 2023 amounted to $798.9 million, which is 72.7% higher than for the same period of the previous year ($462.6 million).
