Kazakhstan exported about 8 million tons of grain in 10 months of 2023. The growth was about 30%. As the KTZ company reported, the main markets remained the Central Asian countries, Afghanistan, Iran, Russia and China, APK News agency reports.
The volume of grain transportation by rail over the past period of this year increased by 24%. As of November 1, 9.4 million tons of grain were transported by rail. Grain exports increased by 29% and amounted to 7.7 million tons. 1.7 million tons were transported within the country, which is 4% more than last year.
Loading of ground products increased by 4% over 10 months - to 2.5 million tons. At the same time, 1.8 million tons were shipped for export, an increase of 7%.
The main markets for Kazakh grain and flour remain the countries of Central Asia, Afghanistan, Iran, Russia and China.
Over 10 months, grain transportation to Uzbekistan increased by 24%, Tajikistan - by 9%, Turkmenistan - by 78%, Russia - by 56%. Grain loading to Kyrgyzstan has doubled and to China threefold.
Exports of grinding products to Uzbekistan increased by 5%, Kyrgyzstan - by 67%, China - by 79%.
In October, over 900 thousand tons of grain and 283 thousand tons of ground products were transported. Within the country, transportation of grain increased by 25%, and grinding products by 42%.
“Over 17.2 thousand covered wagons and over 10 thousand grain carriers are involved in the transportation of grain and milling products. The transportation of goods through the KTZ network is carried out within the framework of the main plan, formed for the coming month at the request of shippers, taking into account the capacity of the railway infrastructure,” KTZ reports.
Earlier it was reported that in October it was planned to transport 1.3 million tons of grain by rail. However, as KTZ stated, shippers presented only 69% of the declared volume for transportation.
