Akmola region expects a high grain harvest this year, according to forecasts, it will amount to 5 million tons. This was reported by the region's akim Marat Akhmetzhanov at a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the press service of Akorda reported.

According to the akim, positive growth dynamics in industrial production, gross agricultural output, transport services and communications are maintained in Akmola region. Currently, seven large dairy farms are being built with the support of state financial institutions.

Over 179 billion tenge were invested in the region's economy in the first half of the year, the investment portfolio includes 187 projects with the creation of 1.7 thousand jobs. An industrial zone of national significance Aqmola was created in the Arshaly district. Also, to attract and support potential investors on the "one-stop shop" principle, the Aqmola Invest Investment Development Center was opened in the capital.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the key role of the region in ensuring food security of the country. The President pointed out the importance of modernizing the agro-industrial complex, including timely and high-quality harvesting.

It should be noted that in general, in the grain-growing regions of Kazakhstan this year, they expect an above-average grain harvest, according to some forecasts - a record one.
