The Karabalyk Agricultural Experimental Station (in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan) has completed 80% of the harvesting work at this time. The remaining harvest is planned to be collected within the next two weeks. According to the results of the season, the average yield of grain crops at the station was 22.1 c/ha. The highest yield was given by the "Kudesnitsa" variety, the APK News agency reports.
The main focus of the experimental station is on obtaining high-quality original seeds and seeds of higher reproductions. To achieve the required grain moisture without the use of forced drying, a significant part of the sowing area was harvested using a two-phase method.
As reported by the NANOC, despite the difficult weather conditions, the bulk of the harvest has already been collected and prepared for storage. According to the results of the season, the average yield of grain crops at the station was 22.1 c/ha.
The yield varied depending on the varieties: spring soft wheat of the Aina variety yielded 21.4 c/ha, Fantaziya - 24.2 c/ha, Kazakhstanskaya rannespelaya - 18.3 c/ha, and Lamis - 25.8 c/ha. New varieties such as Aigul showed a yield of 27.8 c/ha, and Kudesnitsa - 29.9 c/ha.
The spring hard wheat variety Asangali 20 demonstrates an average yield of 24.7 c/ha.
Spring barley shows the following results: Velikan - 23.9 c/ha, Medikum 18 - 26.1 c/ha, and the new multi-row barley variety Kairat - 31.2 c/ha.
The yield level of oats Sulu was 27.9 c/ha.
