In the second decade of January in the south and south-east of the republic in areas of cultivation of winter crops, the temperature background was above the norm by 6-10 degrees, in the west - by 2-3 degrees. Precipitation was mostly higher and near the norm, which improves the formation of moisture reserves in the soil. At the same time, there is no snow in the Zhambyl and Turkestan regions, which can lead to freezing when the temperature drops. This was reported by ElDala.kz with reference to the agrometeorological review of Kazhydromet.
It is noted that in the vicinity of Shymkent stations, against the background of positive air temperatures, on the second and fourth days of the decade, the resumption of the vegetation of winter wheat is observed. Development phase "3rd leaf", the condition of the plants is satisfactory.
Stable snow cover is observed on fields with winter crops in the Almaty region (7-11 cm). In the Zhambyl and Turkestan regions, there is basically no snow, which, if the air temperature drops, can lead to freezing of winter crops.
In the West Kazakhstan region, in the areas of cultivation of winter crops, a stable snow cover (24-29 cm) is preserved, which has a protective effect on plants when evenly distributed on the soil surface, so the low temperature on the soil surface (minus 16-18 degrees) was not so dangerous for overwintering.
It is reported that the minimum soil temperature at the depth of the winter wheat tillering node in the south of the country ranged from 0 degrees to minus 2 degrees and in the southeast from 0 degrees to minus 7 degrees (Kyrgyzsay station).
