The government of Ukraine, having suspended the export of a number of agricultural products, including rye, oats, millet and buckwheat, has introduced export licenses for wheat, corn and sunflower oil.
Interfax-Ukraine recalls that in 2021-22 MY, the country planned to export more than 60 million tons of grain, including 33 million tons of corn and 23 million tons of wheat.
Recall that in 2021 Ukraine increased grain production by 32% - up to 85.7 million tons.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, from the beginning of the current season until February 23, Ukraine exported 43 million tons of various grains.
Meanwhile, the state-owned carrier Ukrzaliznytsia said that against the backdrop of the closure of the Black Sea ports due to hostilities, it is ready to urgently organize the export of products by rail. In particular, we are talking about the delivery of grain to the borders with Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland, from where it can be delivered to the ports and logistics hubs of European countries.
In order to maintain export positions on the eve of the relevant ministry of the country reported that export licenses are planned to be issued within a day after the request of exporters.
