The Ministry of Agriculture, as has repeatedly reported, is working on the issue of doubling the funding for field work in 2022, to 140 billion tenge. An additional allocation of 70 billion tenge is planned when the republican budget is clarified. Also, according to the statement of the department, issues arising in connection with the geopolitical situation and rising prices for means of production are being resolved.
“The Ministry of Agriculture takes into account in its activities the current difficult situation associated with last year’s drought, the disruption of supply chains, the increase in prices for raw materials and products, as well as the aggravation of the geopolitical situation in the world. To mitigate emerging risks, the ministry is adjusting its policy in close cooperation with central and local executive bodies, representatives of business and the public,” the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported.
The department noted that the allocation of an additional 70 billion tenge will allow financing more for 1,300 farms.
To date, within the framework of the Ken Dala program, 2,673 applications have been received from farmers for a total amount of 77.6 billion tenge.
In addition, the Food Corporation will allocate up to 80 billion tenge for financing under the forward purchase program, which is twice as high as last year. 374 applications have already been received in the amount of more than 66 billion tenge, 176 agricultural producers have been financed in the amount of 53.5 billion tenge.
Also, the Ministry of Agriculture informed that today 2.3 million tons of seeds, or 100.8% of the plan, were filled in, of which 2 million tons of grain crops (101.3% of the plan), oilseeds - 89.1 thousand tons (96.2% of the plan), fodder - 15.3 thousand tons (80.4% of the plan), potatoes - 237.3 thousand tons (99.9% of the plan).
The readiness of equipment for this date is about 92%, 400 thousand tons of diesel fuel have been allocated for field work, which is 20 thousand tons more than last year. Regional akimats are completing activities to identify operators that will ensure the purchase and delivery of diesel fuel from refineries to the regions, with subsequent sale to farmers. Shipments have already begun in the southern regions.
Pesticides will be subsidized in the amount of 29.7 billion tenge, which will allow 100% processing of the sown area.
This season it is planned to apply about 659 thousand tons of fertilizers. Contracts for the supply of 226 thousand tons have been signed, about 56 thousand tons of fertilizers have already been shipped to farmers. Stocks in warehouses are formed, including imported fertilizers.
“Considering the above, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan notes that all necessary decisions and measures are being taken in a timely manner for the successful implementation of spring field work, the readiness of farmers is high,” the press service said.
