The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to temporarily not apply the anti-dumping measure to European herbicides. The goods in question are being re-investigated due to changed circumstances, World of NAN reports with reference to the EEC press service.
“Currently, the Commission is analyzing the situation in various commodity markets, after which decisions can be made to suspend a number of anti-dumping measures for six months, depending on the development of the economic situation. The issue on herbicides was considered taking into account the relevant request of the Kazakh side, as well as statements by manufacturers of European plant protection products, who expressed their intention to continue working in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union,” said Andrey Slepnev, Minister for Trade of the EEC.
Suspension of the anti-dumping duty on herbicides will help alleviate logistical problems resulting from the disruption of global supply chains, as well as partially offset the volatility of exchange rates, the minister said. Ultimately, the EEC decision will support the agricultural producers of the EAEU countries and help ensure food security.
