Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeev visited the Almaty region, where he told the farmers about the planned state support for the agro-industrial complex this year. Currently, work continues to improve the mechanism for subsidizing the agro-industrial complex, but given the difficult situation on the global food market, the government decided to postpone the reform of the subsidy system until January 1, 2023. This year, farmers will be subsidized under the existing scheme. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

“309 billion tenge of subsidies are provided to support the agro-industrial complex this year, including 79.7 billion tenge for crop production, 100 billion tenge for animal husbandry, 8.4 billion tenge for processing agricultural products, and 120.4 billion tenge for financial instruments” - said Yerbol Karashukeev.

In addition, on behalf of the head of state, additional funding is planned for the development of the industry, including the funds will be used to pay off last year's debt and level the consequences of rising prices for commodity and material resources used in the production of agricultural products.

At the same time, the development of a unified state information system for subsidizing is being completed. The register of recipients of subsidies will be automatically formed, verification of their compliance with the category of agricultural producers according to OKEA, registration of counter obligations of recipients of subsidies and assessment of the degree of their implementation, the order of receipt of subsidies and a waiting list for unsatisfied applications. This system will be free and integrated with all major government databases. The new system is planned to be introduced in the second half of the year.

At the meeting, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture drew attention to the need to develop the export potential of the industry, purchase agricultural equipment, purchase modern irrigation systems and bring the necessary infrastructure.

An additional 8.3 billion tenge will be allocated for the implementation of investment projects for the production and processing of vegetables and sugar beets. These funds will be used to finance the acquisition of modern irrigation systems and the provision of the necessary infrastructure.

“As part of the scaling up of the project to increase the incomes of the rural population, the issue of allocating 40 billion tenge for microcrediting residents of rural settlements and small towns is being worked out. The program provides for microcrediting at 6% for a period of 5-7 years. This will create 10,000 jobs,” Yerbol Karashukeev said.
