Kazakhstan is not threatened with a shortage of flour, just as there are no prerequisites for an increase in bread prices, Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeev told reporters on the sidelines of the government on Wednesday.
“Indeed, world wheat prices are rising. But our Food Contract Corporation has formed reserves of wheat. We are now ensuring the supply of cheaper grain to the regions for social bread. Therefore, the price will be stable. There were no prerequisites for the rise in bread prices, there are not and will not be. Because our volumes are enough to supply the domestic market,” Karashukeev assured.
He also recalled that until June 15 in Kazakhstan there are quotas for the export of wheat and flour - these are 1 million tons and 300 thousand tons, respectively, so "now we have both producers and processors of wheat have come to a balance."
“The market is stable, we are working. Our stocks are sufficient until the arrival of a new crop. There is no and will not be a shortage of flour,” the head of the Ministry of Agriculture assured.
