The wheat harvest in Kazakhstan and its export in the new marketing year is expected to be at the level of average annual volumes. Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeev announced this today at a briefing in the CCS.
“We have a forecast for wheat this year at the level of 13-13.5 million tons. Compared to last year, the harvest will be 15-20% higher, at the level of average annual volumes over the past five years,” the head of the Ministry of Agriculture said.
He noted that Kazakhstan annually produces 12-12.5 million tons of wheat on average, 6 million tons are used for domestic consumption. The rest of the volume in the form of grain and flour is exported.
“In the new marketing year, we expect exports at average annual levels,” Yerbol Karashukeev specified.
