The tenge rate at the auctions of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange on Wednesday, August 17, remained stably low. Strengthening against the dollar was insignificant and amounted to 0.34, up to 476.25 per $1. The ratio to the Russian currency is 7.8261 per 1 ruble.

Exchangers in Almaty on the morning of August 18 ask 480 tenge for 1 dollar, 490 tenge for 1 euro, 7.7 tenge for 1 ruble.

Bitcoin lost 2.2% per day, its price on August 18 was $23,454.

The price of Brent crude fell by 1.24% to $93.37 per barrel per day.

World grain prices continue to decline. September futures for wheat on the US exchange on Wednesday fell by 0.33% to $7.6 per bushel.

In the domestic market of Russia, the price of wheat remains at the level of 10 thousand rubles/ton (Center) and 14 thousand rubles/ton (South). In ports - $350. At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia refused to take measures to curb the fall in prices, including the abolition of export duties proposed by the Association of Peasant Farms and an increase in purchases for state reserves.

“When calculating duties, base prices are set at 15,000 rubles for wheat and 13,875 rubles for barley and corn. With a decrease in export prices for grain to the level of the base duty, the duty will automatically become zero, ”the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation explained.

Meanwhile, the situation is exactly the opposite for oilseeds - they are getting more expensive. The average prices for sunflower seeds in the Russian domestic market last week increased by 500 rubles, to 25,700 rubles/ton (excluding VAT). A ton of sunflower oil has risen in price by 600 rubles, to 73,675 rubles/ton (excluding VAT). The export value of sunflower oil in the ports of the Sea of Azov increased by $40 to $1,430 per ton.

The dynamics is connected with the general global trend towards an increase in the price of oil, primarily soybean and palm oil.
