KazAgroFinance JSC plans to begin a leasing program for grain drying equipment in the near future, reports APK News agency.
As of September 29, 8.7 million hectares of wheat were harvested in Kazakhstan, 7.6 million tons were threshed, with an average yield of 8.7 c/ha. The licensed granaries of the republic received 1.9 million tons of grain from the new harvest. 58.9% of this volume is grade 3 wheat.
“Farmers in the northern regions of Kazakhstan continue the harvesting campaign and have already begun drying grain. This year, due to heavy rains in the regions, wheat arrives at elevators with high humidity. For the safety of the crop, the presence of drying equipment at grain collection points and farms is of particular importance. Through the state, farmers in the north of Kazakhstan have been allocated preferential diesel fuel in the amount of 64 thousand tons for drying wheat. Farmers have already begun submitting applications for diesel fuel through the gosagro.kz information system,” the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported.
It is noted that every year Kazakh farmers purchase 25-30 grain drying machines. In general, there are about 600 units of grain dryers operating in grain collection centers and peasant farms throughout the republic.
“The Ministry of Agriculture, as part of investment subsidies, reimburses farmers up to 25% of the cost of grain dryers. In addition, KazAgroFinance JSC plans to begin a leasing program for grain drying equipment in the near future,” the Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement.
