To date, 12.6 million hectares of grain crops have been harvested in Kazakhstan, or 72.7%. 11.7 million tons of grain were threshed. The average yield is 9.3 c/ha. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As Deputy Director of the Agriculture Department of the Ministry of Agriculture Murat Irgebaev reported at a meeting of the Operational Headquarters, 352.7 thousand tons of oilseeds were collected, 2.1 million tons of potatoes, 3.2 million tons of vegetables, and about 2.8 million tons of melons.
The first priority is to fill the seeds for next year's harvest. With a plan of 1.9 million tons of grain seeds, 935.5 thousand hectares were covered.
Taking into account the difficulties with harvesting associated with bad weather, farmers were allocated additional volumes of preferential diesel fuel for drying grain and oilseeds at a price of 250 tenge per liter. According to the plan, about 62.5 thousand tons of diesel fuel will be shipped from the refinery.
The issue of extending loans without imposing penalties for farmers is being discussed individually with regional financial institutions.
According to information from Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Agrarian Credit Corporation Murat Iskakov, 33 agricultural producers submitted applications for loan extension in the amount of 2.3 billion tenge. Other borrowers who suffered from adverse weather conditions continue to receive requests regarding the terms, list of documents to be provided, and procedures for restructuring obligations.
At the same time, through the Food Corporation, criteria are being developed to extend the deadlines for fulfilling farmers’ obligations on forward purchases and commodity credit. The terms of the extension will be announced soon.
