Kazakh grain exports increased by 24% over the year. During the period January-October 2023, 3.8 million tons of wheat were exported from the country to foreign markets. This data is provided by the Bureau of National Statistics. The largest volume went to Uzbekistan, reports the APK News agency.
In January-October 2023, Kazakhstan exported 3 million 885 thousand tons of wheat and meslin worth $1 billion. During the same period in 2022, 3 million 131 thousand tons of wheat and meslin worth $963 million went to foreign markets.
The growth in volume was 24%, in value – 7%.
2 million 726 thousand tons of wheat and meslin were sent to the CIS countries. The growth was 29%.
The largest volume went to Uzbekistan – 1 million 976 thousand tons. It is worth noting that an increase of a significant 40% is recorded here.
Tajikistan took second place with a volume of 404 thousand tons, an increase of 12%.
In third place is Turkmenistan – 230 thousand tons with an increase of 19%.
Then came: Azerbaijan - 104 thousand tons with a decrease in volume by 14%, Russia - 9.9 thousand tons with a decrease of as much as 62%, Kyrgyzstan - 1 thousand tons with a decrease of 56%.
As for the rest of the world, the largest markets during this period were in Afghanistan, China, Italy and Turkey.
322 thousand tons of grain were sent to Afghanistan, with a volume increase of 24%;
China - 249 thousand tons, while in 2022 our wheat did not go to this country;
Italy – 226 thousand tons, with an increase of 47%;
Turkey – 156 thousand tons, with an increase of 54%.
Small volumes went to Tunisia - 72 thousand tons, Iran - 54 thousand tons, Latvia - 34 thousand tons, Spain - 19 thousand tons, Sweden - 10 thousand tons.
Even less was shipped to Poland - 5.5 thousand tons, Norway - 4.5 thousand tons, Greece - 3 thousand tons.
The minimum export volumes were to the Netherlands - 430 tons, Germany - 109 tons, Mongolia - 20 tons.
