At the end of the year, the Astyk Trans company decided to suspend the collection of fines for excess downtime of its own and leased cars from January 1 to January 15. In January, the company also decided to suspend collections on loading and unloading operations.
“The company decided to suspend the accrual of excess downtime for shippers under loading/unloading operations starting from January 15, 2024. This decision reflects the Company’s desire to actively support domestic business and increase export potential in a difficult situation in the field of logistics,” the company reported.
This decision was made due to the fact that the difficult train situation in the country remains, the turnover of wagons has decreased, and loading restrictions have been introduced by the national carrier.
At the same time, for cars that Astyk Trans attracts from other owners, excess downtime will be accrued in accordance with the transport expedition agreement.
In addition, the company announced the introduction of special tariffs for one-time shipment of groups of cars (16, 32 and 48 cars) in the direction of Central Asia and Afghanistan. An increasing discount is provided when registering transportation.
“The discount is valid for a one-time loading of 16 wagons or more; for loading of 32 wagons or more, the discount increases; for loading of 48 wagons or more, the discount is maximum,” the company explained.
The new product “16-32-48” was launched on January 1 as part of a strategy to preserve the geography of grain transportation and increase the export potential of Kazakh grain.
