KTZ plans to transport 1.5 million tons of grain for export in January 08.01.2024 в 12:41 201 просмотр

The KTZ company has agreed on a basic export transportation plan for January in the amount of 1.5 million tons of grain cargo. Of these, 1.2 million tons are planned to be transported through the Saryagash border crossing in the direction of Uzbekistan, the KTZ press service reported.

“In the first days of January, the delivery of trains to Uzbekistan increased noticeably (up to 32-33 trains per day), at the same time, the reception of trains by the Chinese side slowed down (11-12 trains per day). At the same time, last year, grain transportation to China tripled compared to 2022 levels, to 2.2 million tons; loading of grinding products doubled, to 600 thousand tons. Today, this is a record figure for the transportation of grain cargo to a neighboring country over the past few years,” the national company reported.

Overall, in 2023, grain transportation increased by 12.7%, to 11.3 million tons. 9 million tons were shipped for export, which is 1 million tons more than the 2022 level. 3 million tons of grinding products were transported, including 2.2 million tons for export. Imports of agricultural products into the Republic of Kazakhstan increased by 15%.

To speed up the delivery of goods across the network, 113 mainline locomotives were purchased in 2023.

“At the moment, there are enough wagons for transporting goods in the country; moreover, there is a surplus of empty private wagons, which have occupied the access roads of shippers and complicated shunting work. At the stations, there are regulations for interaction between private locomotive traction operators and the national infrastructure operator (NIC), adopted at the request of business,” KTZ informed.
