During January–November 2023, Kazakhstan exported 6.7 million tons of wheat and meslin for a total amount of $1.7 billion. The growth in physical terms was 20.6%, in monetary terms - only 2.9%. This information was provided by the monitoring agency Energyprom.kz, citing official statistics. The leaders in imports were Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and China, reports the APK News agency.
 
Of the total exports of 6.7 million tons, the largest part of the production - 4.8 million tons - was traditionally sent to the CIS countries. The growth of shipments to post-Soviet countries amounted to 19%. The main volumes fell on Uzbekistan; the largest volume of grain was exported there - 3.3 million tons. To Tajikistan 888 thousand tons, Turkmenistan - 528 thousand tons. In monetary terms, exports amounted to $1.2 billion.
 
Kazakhstan sent 1.9 million tons of wheat to other countries of the world that are not part of the CIS, which is 24.3% more than a year earlier. China is the leader here - 519 thousand tons, against 23 thousand tons a year earlier. The top three key destinations also included Italy - 497 thousand tons and Afghanistan - 418 thousand tons.
 
Last November, export prices for wheat and meslin decreased by 4% over the month and by 8% over the year.
 
In monthly dynamics, export prices for the CIS countries decreased by 7%, for other countries - by 0.8%.
 
In annual dynamics, prices for the CIS countries fell immediately by 16.8%, but for the rest of the world’s countries that are not members of the commonwealth, on the contrary, they increased by 3.2%.
 
Investments in fixed capital in the field of growing grain and leguminous crops, including seed production, in January-December last year amounted to 465 billion tenge - 3% more than a year earlier. Regionally, the largest volume of investments fell on the North Kazakhstan, Kostanay and Akmola regions. In general, investments in the sector were recorded in 16 out of 20 regions of the country.
 
In the field of grain warehousing and storage, capital investments for the twelve months of 2023 amounted to 8.3 billion tenge - 13% less than a year earlier. Regionally, the same regions were among the leaders.
