Since September 2023, there has been a ban on the import of wheat in Kazakhstan, with the exception of deliveries by rail to licensed elevators, grain processors and poultry enterprises. On February 5, the Ministry of Agriculture published an updated list of enterprises that have the right to import wheat.
The list included 69 poultry farms, 211 grain processors (producers of flour, animal feed and alcohol), as well as 194 elevators. The full list can be found on the Ministry of Agriculture website.
Let us remind you that restrictions on wheat imports are in effect until April 11. At the same time, deliveries by rail are allowed to licensed enterprises, and grain is also in transit. Other consumers in Kazakhstan may import wheat through licensed elevators.
The import of wheat by road until April 11 is completely prohibited both to the market of the Republic of Kazakhstan and in transit.
The reason for the restrictions was numerous facts of “gray” import of Russian wheat.
