The national railway cargo carrier JSC NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" prohibited the acceptance of grain cargo for transportation to China from April 11 to April 20. The reason for the suspension of work was the non-acceptance of cargo by the Chinese side, as well as a large congestion of trains on the way. The ban was introduced at both stations – Dostyk and Altynkol, APK News reports.
The KTZ document, which was provided to us by grain exporters, reports that the Chinese Railway untimely accepts and unloads wagons loaded with wheat and corn grain, seeds, flour, and animal feed, both from the Altynkol and Dostyk points. In this regard, KTZ decided to prohibit the acceptance for transportation and redirection of goods to the PRC: wheat, flax seeds, barley, oilseeds, cake and grinding products - flour, feed, bran - in covered wagons from April 11 to April 20, 2024.
It is noted that the average delivery of cars at the Altynkol station in April is 7 cars per day. Meanwhile, at the station there are over 100 covered cars on the way - for 15 days.
A similar ban has been introduced at Dostyk station. There, the average delivery for the month of April is 11 cars per day. 180 covered wagons accumulated at the entrance - for 17 days.
