“KTZ-GP submitted the fifth application to increase the tariff for light transport by 35% from June 1,” said a market participant.
The main reason for the need to increase tariffs for services for the transportation of goods by rail, KTZ-Freight Transportation, named: increased labor costs, increased costs of diesel fuel, electricity, increased prices for servicing locomotives, increased interest payments on loans, investments are also included here , allocated for the purchase of new locomotives.
As reported, in January KTZ-GP submitted an application to increase the tariff for LT by 35%. The rationale for the tariff increase was similar: rising wages, electricity prices and the investment program.
Grain farmers believe that as the tariff increases, part of the margin will go to the carrier. However, the price of grain, according to them, should not increase.
