On May 29, Kazhydromet announced a storm warning in 16 regions of Kazakhstan.
“The extensive anticyclone will maintain its influence on the western and southern regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, bringing with it sunny weather without precipitation. The rest of the country will continue to be affected by the cyclone and the associated atmospheric frontal sections - there will be rain and thunderstorms in the mountains of the Almaty region, and there will be precipitation (rain, snow) at night in the east of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Stronger winds are expected across the republic, hail in the north and northwest, a dust storm in the west and southwest, and fog in the east at night and in the morning,” Kazhydromet reports.
At night in the north, east of the East Kazakhstan region, in the west, east, in the center of the Abay region, in the north on the soil surface of the Aktobe region, frosts of 2-3 degrees are predicted.
A storm warning has been issued for the following regions.
Akmola region: thunderstorm and hail are expected in the west, north, east during the day. The wind is southwest changing to northeast in the north, south, east of the region with gusts up to 15-20 meters per second.
Zhetysu region: in the area of the Alakol Lakes, northeast winds are expected, gusts up to 15-20 meters per second. There is still a high fire danger in the east of the region.
Astana: thunderstorm expected during the day. Wind southwest in the morning and in the afternoon gusts up to 15-20 meters per second.
Aktobe region: at night in the north of the region, frosts of 2 degrees are expected on the soil surface. There is still a high fire danger in the west of the region.
Mangystau region: a dust storm is expected in the west, south, and center of the region during the day. Wind southeast in the afternoon in the west, south, in the center gusts up to 15-20 meters per second.
Abay region: fog is expected in the center and in the east at night and in the morning. Southwestern wind in the afternoon in the west and north of the region with gusts of up to 15-20 meters per second. At night, frosts of 3 degrees are expected in the west, east, and center of the region.
East Kazakhstan region: at night in the north and east, light precipitation (rain, snow) and fog are expected. The wind is northwest turning to southwest at night in the south of the region, during the day in the north of the region gusts up to 15-20 meters per second. At night in the north and east of the region frosts of 3 degrees are expected.
Karaganda region: thunderstorms are expected in the northern half. The wind is west, during the day in the north and east of the region gusts up to 15-20 meters per second.
Atyrau region: a dust storm is expected in the west and south during the day. The wind is northeasterly, changing to southeasterly in the afternoon in the west and south with gusts up to 15-20 meters per second. A high fire danger remains in the south and north; extreme fire danger is expected in the west of the region.
North Kazakhstan region: thunderstorms and hail are expected in the west, south, and east during the day. Northwestern wind at night up to 15-20 meters per second, in the south and east of the region gusts up to 25 meters per second, during the day in the north, south, east of the region gusts of 15-20 meters per second.
Turkestan region: east wind is expected, on mountain passes up to 15-20 meters per second. Extreme fire danger remains in the desert areas of the region.
Zhambyl region: high fire danger is expected in the west and east.
West Kazakhstan region: in the west, southwest, and center there remains a high fire danger; in the west (in the western part of the Dzhanybek region) extreme fire danger is expected.
Kostanay region: thunderstorm and hail are expected in the north in the morning and afternoon. The wind is west, northwest in the north, east, south of the region up to 15-20 meters per second. A high fire danger remains in the south of the region.
Pavlodar region: western wind is expected with gusts of up to 15-20 meters per second.
Kyzylorda region: high fire danger remains in the east.
