The first Kazakh-Chinese grain forum was held in the city of Bole (XUAR, China).
The Kazakh delegation got acquainted with the work of the new terminal for unloading grain and vegetable oils in the bonded zone of the Alashankou station, and also met with the management of Alashankou, representatives of customs authorities and the station. As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to create a working group to quickly resolve emerging issues when transporting goods to the PRC. This was reported by the press service of the KTZ company, whose representatives were part of the delegation.
The forum was also attended by representatives of the ministries of transport, agriculture of the two countries, Kazakh and Chinese businesses. The participants discussed issues of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, the possibility of increasing cargo turnover between Kazakhstan and China and the conditions for the supply of export cargo.
“It was noted at the forum that thanks to joint work, the volume of cargo transportation between the two countries at the end of 2023 increased by 22% compared to the previous year and reached a record level of over 28 million tons. Cargo exports increased by 35%, to 12.6 million tons. One of the main crops supplied by Kazakhstan to China is barley and wheat. Last year, grain exports tripled, to 2.2 million tons,” KTZ reported.
