For the operational management of organizational measures to combat locusts, Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin went to the Zhetysu region, the Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov went to the Turkestan region, and the vice ministers of agriculture went to the Kostanay and Aktobe regions. This was reported by the government press service.
It is noted that the central operational headquarters has moved to meetings twice a week. All regions are in manual mode: they continuously monitor the situation and immediately redeploy equipment and additional volumes of pesticides to places where it is necessary to intensify treatment.
In the Turkestan region, the situation is complicated by the heat and the spread of locusts over an additional area of 60 thousand hectares. As of June 10, 45.3 thousand hectares of them have already been processed: 36.8 thousand hectares in Arys, 6.7 thousand hectares in the Shardara district, 1.6 thousand hectares in the Kelessky district.
In addition, 46 employees have already been seconded from the Ministry of Agriculture to the Turkestan region, who are exploring the territory in search of places for processing. If they are detected, re-treatment is carried out with a double dose of chemicals.
