The Ministry of Agriculture plans to begin digitalizing the processes of passing agricultural goods across the border of Kazakhstan (export-import). This was reported by the press service of the department.
It is noted that these measures will ensure end-to-end traceability of all livestock products, electronic certification of animals and goods of animal origin, as well as track their movement.
A pilot project on traceability of livestock products is currently being implemented. This year, the implementation of the module "Veterinary and Sanitary Examination of Meat" will be completed in all regions and cities of national significance, which will automate the process of issuing examination certificates and ensure traceability of the animal's life cycle.
A new digital system is also being developed - quarantine and quotas for traceability of the full quarantine cycle when exporting animals outside the Republic of Kazakhstan. The launch of the system is planned for this month.
At a visiting meeting on veterinary safety in the Almaty region, Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov noted a number of shortcomings in the work of the region's veterinary service, including uncontrolled movement of animals, untimely coverage of animals with diagnostic tests, and failure of owners to comply with orders to submit sick animals for sanitary slaughter.
The quality of the work of veterinarians was criticized.
"It is necessary to strengthen the work of veterinary services at the local level. Veterinarians of the Ministry of Agriculture should identify animals and conduct explanatory work on safety measures among the population. Total control of all farms is required to eliminate cases of the disease," Saparov emphasized.
The meeting also paid special attention to the prevention and elimination of outbreaks of acute infectious diseases. In this regard, it was noted that it is necessary to accelerate work to provide all regions with veterinary points, cattle burial grounds/incinerators and slaughter facilities in accordance with the Concept for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex for 2021-2030.
“Today, only the North Kazakhstan region and Zhetysu region are working in this direction; in a number of other regions, work is being carried out partially,” the minister emphasized, instructing the creation of a working group to monitor the implementation of the indicators of the veterinary services of the akimats.
