International grain trade will be one of the topics for discussion at the AGRICOM conference. The grain conference will be held on September 25 in Astana.
The session on international trade at AGRICOM will be moderated by Sergey Potapov, General Director of Viterra Kazakhstan.
The session speakers will reveal information about trends in global grain trade in the 2024/25 season and export potential. The session participants will discuss the needs of the markets of Uzbekistan, China and Afghanistan, grain trading in the USA, and will also talk about foreign markets for Russian grain.
The issues that will be proposed for discussion include expected export volumes of key agricultural crops; assessment of the volume of supplies of Russian wheat and flour to the markets of Central Asia and Afghanistan; regulation of exports of key agricultural crops from Kazakhstan and the specifics of grain transit through the territory of neighboring states.
The session's experts will include Dmitry Rylko (Institute for Agricultural Market Studies, Russia), Sulton Nazarov (Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan), Zhu Xiaohui (Xinjiang Taikun Group (MAGATAN), China), Atai Olfatullah (Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry), and Lucas Blaustein (US Embassy in Kazakhstan, USDA Office for Kazakhstan and Central Asia).
