Transportation of Kazakhstani grain of the new harvest in September-October exceeded 2.2 million tons. Including 1.8 million tons sent for export, which is 30% higher than in the same period last year. At the same time, the delivery of grain cargo to China is complicated, in connection with which KTZ introduced loading regulations in this direction, the press service of the national company reported.
“The export of grain cargo to China remains a limiting direction. Over two months, more than 360 wagons or 25 thousand tons were returned under phytosanitary, quarantine certificates and customs declarations. According to the representative office of NC KTZ in the PRC, the Main Customs Administration has strengthened border controls on the import of grain cargo in containers. The inspection time of containers has been increased from five days to 10 days,” KTZ noted.
According to the company, more than 2,500 containers have accumulated awaiting customs inspection at the Khorgos station on the Chinese side alone. Due to the limited acceptance of trains to China, there is an accumulation of grain container trains in Kazakhstan. In this regard, KTZ is currently forced to regulate the loading of grain cargo in containers.
Regarding other directions, KTZ reported that grain transportation to Russia is proceeding without restrictions. Exports to the Russian Federation for two months amounted to 23.4 thousand tons, and transit through the Russian Federation - 113 thousand tons.
Shipments through the port of Aktau in the direction of Iran for two months exceeded 250 thousand tons.
Exports of new crop grain to Central Asian markets increased by more than 30% compared to shipments for the same period last year and exceeded the mark of 1 million tons.
