Negotiations on the transportation of grain products to Afghanistan were held at the national company KTZ with the participation of shippers, the Beineu elevator and representatives of the Food Corporation.
"The participants discussed the possibilities of transporting grain to Afghanistan through the border crossings of Serhetabat (Turkmenistan) - Torghundi (Afghanistan). Afghanistan is ready to accept about 200 thousand tons of grain products. Negotiations were also held with the Deputy Minister of Transport of Turkmenistan on increasing the speed of movement of loaded and empty wagons across the territory of Turkmenistan," the press service of KTZ reported.
According to the national company, in October of this year, grain transportation to Central Asia increased by 43%, to 615 thousand tons.
It should be noted that in the first 9 months of this year, Kazakhstan exported 127 thousand tons of grain to Afghanistan. And according to the results of 10 months, Afghanistan became the leader in the volume of imports of Kazakh flour, having purchased 788 thousand tons.
