Kazakhstan to Reduce Transportation Costs for Grain Sales to Africa and Europe 21.11.2024 в 13:22 51 просмотр

The grain destinations for which the state will pay subsidies were announced by the Government, the APK News agency reports.

“The Ministry of Agriculture is working on the issue of reducing transportation costs for grain exports to priority markets,” Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin said in response to a parliamentary inquiry.

It is expected that grain transportation costs will be reimbursed for exports along the following routes:
1) to the Republic of Azerbaijan;
2) to the countries of the European Union, North Africa through the ports of the Azov, Baltic, and Black Seas;
3) to the Islamic Republic of Iran;
4) to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in transit through Turkmenistan;
5) to the countries of Southeast Asia in transit through the People’s Republic of China.

Both traditional markets for Kazakh grain and new destinations are being worked out in terms of grain export destinations.

The issue of supplying 200 thousand tons of wheat is being worked out with the Chinese company COFCO. An agreement was signed with the Iranian company Fawakeh for the supply of 200 thousand tons of barley. A preliminary contract was signed for the supply of 400 thousand tons of wheat to European countries through the ports of the Baltic Sea. An agreement was signed with the company "Ears International For Trade Co." Egypt for the supply of 300 thousand tons of wheat.

"Today, China accepts Kazakh wheat within the allocated import quotas, regardless of the company's location in the bonded zone," Zhumangarin emphasized.

The Ministry, together with interested government agencies (MTI and MNE), is also working with the authorized bodies of the Russian Federation to remove temporary restrictions on the import and transit through Russia of Kazakh agricultural products, including grain, legumes and oilseeds for further export to European markets.
