The weather conditions this autumn were favorable for winter wheat sowing in the southern regions of Kazakhstan. The condition of the plants before the onset of winter is assessed from satisfactory to excellent, according to the agrometeorological review of Kazhydromet for the second ten-day period of November.
According to weather forecasters, in the Almaty and Zhetysu regions the average temperature was up to 5°C and below, the vegetation of winter wheat has ceased.
In the Zhambyl region, winter crops are in the phase of grain germination and seedlings, in some areas around the Kordai agropost and the Sarykemir meteorological station, the plants have reached the 3rd leaf. The condition of the crops is good and excellent, the height of the plants reaches 8-11 cm.
In the Turkestan region, at the end of the ten-day period, seedlings were also observed on crops in the vicinity of the Ekpendy agropost, the Kazygurt and Shymkent meteorological stations. The condition of the plants is good and satisfactory. Plant height is 5-13 cm.
Kazhydromet also reported on the state of pastures. In most of the territory of distant-pasture livestock farming, pastures were moderately grazed in the second ten-day period of November. Some pastures in the Aktobe region show weak grazing, pastures in the Moiynkum and Shu districts of the Zhambyl region, the Mangistau district of the Mangistau region are not grazed. At the same time, pastures in the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region and the Aktogay district of the Karaganda region are heavily grazed.
Most pastures have damp turf, and some pastures in the northwest have dry turf. Frozen turf is observed on some pastures in the Aktobe, Karaganda and Kostanay regions.
