Agreements worth $1 billion were signed at the talks in Beijing between the largest food and agricultural companies of Kazakhstan and China. In particular, Aitas.kz agreed to supply poultry products worth $100 million, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
As the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov reported at the meeting, the largest share of Kazakhstan's agricultural exports to China is occupied by grain and oilseed crops, as well as vegetable oils.
“Last year, the volume of grain supplies to China increased 5.5 times and reached 1.4 million tons. The heads of the two states agreed to increase the volume of grain supplies to the Chinese market to 2 million tons in the near future, and the Kazakh side is ready to make deliveries promptly. According to the results of 9 months of 2024, Kazakh companies shipped 1.1 million tons of grain to China,” the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan said.
During the negotiations, representatives of Kazakhstan spoke about the possibilities of developing high-value added production in the country and invited Chinese businesses to invest in the agro-industrial complex and its infrastructure. One of the potentially attractive areas for investors from China could be the production of organic products, which have a higher value and are in demand on world markets. In addition, Kazakhstan has good opportunities to develop the export of high-quality livestock products, such as beef, lamb, poultry, canned meat, dairy products and honey.
