The Eldala.kz portal has updated the data for the rating of "TOP 100 Agroholdings of Kazakhstan".
The top three leaders are still headed by the largest land users of Kazakhstan: Olzha Agro (960 thousand hectares), Atameken Agro (441 thousand hectares) and Agrofirm TNK (430 thousand hectares). The rating is based on open data on the size of the companies' land bank.
The Olzha Agro agroholding operates in the Kostanay region. The main activities of the holding are: growing grain, leguminous, oilseed, forage, melon crops, seed production, warehousing and storage of grain (eight elevators with a total capacity of 1 million 450 thousand tons), import and processing of agricultural crops, production of feed for farm animals, breeding dairy and beef cattle.
The size of arable land is 660 thousand hectares, pastures - 300 thousand hectares.
Atameken Agro operates in the Akmola and North Kazakhstan regions, with 321 thousand hectares used for arable land. The holding's fields grow grain (soft wheat, hard wheat, barley), oilseeds (rapeseed, flax, mustard), legumes (peas, lentils, chickpeas) and buckwheat.
Atameken Agro is also involved in livestock and poultry farming.
Agricultural firm TNK cultivates land in the Akmola, East Kazakhstan and Kyzylorda regions. Of the 430 thousand hectares of land bank, more than 240 thousand hectares are sown areas.
The structure of Agricultural firm TNK includes four elevators and eight grain storage facilities (storage capacity up to 500 thousand tons of grain), four mill complexes, a feed mill, a cereal plant, seven livestock farms and laboratories.
The fourth position is occupied by the holding company "Grain Consortium of Kazakhstan" with a land bank of 407.47 thousand hectares. The company became the key investor that resumed the activities of the group of companies of the agroholding "KazExportAstyk". "Grain Consortium of Kazakhstan" operates in the Akmola, North Kazakhstan and Zhambyl regions. The Consortium structure includes 22 agricultural producers, including:
- "Taiynsha-Astyk" - 72 thousand hectares,
- "Agrofirma Eksimnan" - 52 thousand hectares,
- "Agrofirma Kzyltu-Nan" - 37 thousand hectares of arable land,
- "Plemzavod Alabota" - up to 40 thousand hectares,
- "Agrofirma Burabay-2007" - 32 thousand hectares,
- "Vishnevskoye" - 29 thousand hectares of arable land,
- "Stepnoishimskaya Experimental Station" - 23.9 thousand hectares,
- "Zerenda-Astyk" - 21 thousand hectares,
- "Viktorovskoye" - 16.5 thousand hectares of arable land and others.
