The Ministry of Agriculture, while developing amendments to the Development Plan of the grain operator Food Corporation, announced a reduction in funding for forward grain purchases, the APK News agency reports.
The document states that, according to the Concept of Development of the AIC until 2030, the grain operator (Food Corporation) must increase the guaranteed volume of grain purchases from farmers on a forward basis. However, this condition had to be met in the case of funding planned then, for example, for 2024 - in the amount of 100 billion tenge. This year, only 40 billion tenge were allocated for these purposes.
Last year, it was planned to increase the volume of purchases in 2024 to 800 thousand tons. However, due to a reduction in funds, this figure is now planned to be reduced. As well as the volumes in subsequent years.
Thus, the amount of funding in 2024 amounted to 40 billion tenge, the average cost of grain was 90 thousand tenge per ton.
As reported in the document, the planned calculations for the coming years are as follows:
The amount for 2025 is projected to be 30 billion tenge. The estimated cost of grain, taking into account inflation at 5%, will be 94.8 thousand tenge per ton.
The amount of funding for 2026 will be 40 billion tenge. The cost of grain is 99.5 thousand tenge.
The amount for 2027 is 30 billion tenge. The cost of grain is 104.5 thousand tenge.
The amount for 2028 is 40 billion tenge. The cost of grain is 109.7 thousand tenge.
The amount for 2029 is 30 billion tenge. The cost of grain is 115.2 thousand tenge.
The amount for 2030 is 40 billion tenge. The cost of grain is 121 thousand tenge per ton, taking into account inflation.
As explained to the APK News agency by the Food Corporation, in 2024, 40 billion tenge was allocated from the state budget, the average cost of grain was 90 thousand tenge. Further, by year, the calculation is based on the amount of 90 thousand tenge.
"These figures that go further are not a price forecast, the price changes every year, we cannot give a forecast even for tomorrow. Therefore, we make the calculation based on 90 thousand tenge, which have developed now," the company noted.
If we talk about volumes, according to the data, in 2024 the volume of purchases will be 450 thousand tons, instead of the previous plan of 800 thousand tons. In 2025, the volume will decrease from the previously planned 350 thousand tons to 310 thousand tons. In 2026, 400 thousand tons will be purchased, instead of the previously planned 355 thousand tons. In 2027, the volume of purchases will be 280 thousand tons. In 2028 - 360 thousand tons. In 2029 - 260 thousand tons. In 2030 - 330 thousand tons.
The document states that in 2026-2029, financing of spring field work is planned after the sale of grain purchased in 2024-2025.
