The Chinese company Dalian Hesheng Holdings plans to begin construction of a vertically integrated industrial park for deep processing of wheat in the Akmola region in the second quarter of 2025. This project was discussed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov at a meeting with the Chinese delegation, the government press service reported.
The multidisciplinary company Dalian Hesheng Holdings holds a technological patent in the field of processing and fermentation of wheat, uses advanced digital technologies.
As reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Dalian Hesheng Holdings Group Co., Ltd. Ma Honghan, the amount of investment in production in Kazakhstan at the first stage will be $500-800 million, the second and third stages of the project are estimated at another $1 billion. The processing capacity at the first stage will be 1 million tons of wheat with the prospect of increasing to 3 million tons per year.
The enterprise will create about 2 thousand jobs.
The project also provides for the construction of a coal-fired thermal power plant and a coal chemical complex. As a result of coal processing, it is expected to produce 150-400 thousand tons of liquid ammonia per year.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of actively increasing wheat processing, including taking into account the achievement of record grain harvest figures.
“Kazakhstan is a country with a developed agricultural sector. We strive to increase the output of products with high added value. This area is a priority for our country. The government is focused on localizing production and transferring advanced technologies,” Olzhas Bektenov emphasized.
Following the meeting, the head of government instructed interested government agencies to carry out the necessary work to conclude an investment agreement with Chinese partners as soon as possible.
